Arnold Fletcher, 80, of Crothersville, passed away at 9:02 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Born Oct. 8, 1934, in Wynette, Illinois, he was the son of Earl and Isa Dailey Fletcher, both of whom preceded him in death.

On June 7, 1959, he married Janice Marie Surber Fletcher, who survives in Crothersville.

Arnold was a 1954 Crothersville High School graduate. He then served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged March 31, 1963.

Arnold retired in 1995 as a supervisor at the former U.S. Shoe factory in Crothersville, where he worked his entire career. He enjoyed fishing, mushroom hunting, golfing, NASCAR races and hunting turtles and loved running around with his good ol’ friend, Bill Money.

Arnold was dedicated to his family, a wonderful and amazing father and personable. He loved to fellowship with people and could whistle a mean tune, as his father taught him many.

Other survivors include three children, Patty (Brad) Brown of Austin, and Larry (Carolyn) Fletcher and Gary Wayne Fletcher, both of Crothersville; a grandson, Jeremy Brown of Austin; and a great-granddaughter, Gabriella Brown of Austin; brother, Chet (Juanita) Fletcher of Crothersville; and two sisters, Nina (Ivan) Harris of Crothersville and Peggy (Larry) Kiefer of Scottsburg.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Sam Fletcher, on Jan. 16, 2012; and a brother, Joe Fletcher.

The funeral service was Tuesday at Adams Family Funeral Home and Crematory in Crothersville, with Pastor Randy King officiating. Burial was at Uniontown Cemetery.
