Geneva A. Hoene, 85, of Seymour, died Wednesday, March 25, 2015.

Born Nov. 4, 1929, she was the daughter of Albert and Mathilda Hackman Eggersman, both of whom preceded her in death. On April 30, 1950, at St. John’s Lutheran Church (Sauers), she married Ivan H.A. Hoene. He died May 13, 2000.

Geneva lived on the family farm in the Brownstown area for many years. Once Ivan passed away, she moved to Seymour. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Borchers. Geneva lived her life to the fullest and made beautiful quilts. She also had quite a green thumb and enjoyed gardening. Canning food also was among her many talents. Her family loved to visit and eat wonderful meals that Geneva would cook for everyone.

Survivors include three sisters, Wilma Benter, Maxine Newcomb and Dorothy Otte Simmons; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers; a sister, Mildred Thiele; and a niece, Patricia Marcin.

The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church (Borchers) with the Rev. Steven Wood officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Voss Chapel and 9:30 a.m. until time of service Saturday.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Borchers, or the New Church Building Fund, St. Paul Lutheran Church.
