Staff shave head after school fundraiser

As Immanuel Lutheran School students chanted his name, teacher B.J. Sinclair walked down to the stage and decided to face his fate by having his head shaved with fellow teachers Charlie Smith and Paul Scheiderer.

They all shaved their heads as part of the school’s fundraising efforts for the American Cancer Society.

The fundraiser started several weeks ago with students voting for teachers with their heads of hair on the line.

The teacher who raised the most had to shave his head with a bonus that if the school collected more than $600, Smith would shave his head, too. The school collected $656.61.

“We were happy we raised so much. In the end, even the church (Immanuel Lutheran) pitched in,” Smith said of the fundraiser.
