A photography discussion group plans to meet at 7 p.m. April 16 at Southern Indiana Center for the Arts, 2001 N. Ewing St., Seymour.

The event is intended to allow area photography enthusiasts of all skill levels to share their experiences and learn from each other in an informal setting. It will begin with a brief presentation about backyard nature photography by Joe Persinger.

This is a free activity open to anyone who enjoys photography.

“If there’s enough interest, we hope to do this three or four times a year,” said Eric DiBlasi Jr., one of the organizers of the event.

“We don’t want it to be a structured thing like a club or a class but more of a casual forum where people can talk with each other about their experiences with various types of camera equipment or software or how they approach their particular style of photography,” Persinger added. “We want it to be fun.”

Possible future activities, such as an exhibit at the arts center, photo outings and programs about specific fields of photography, also will be considered.

Registration is not required, but it would be helpful if those planning to attend would call the arts center at 812-522-2278 or send an email to [email protected] so organizers can get a head count.
