Brownstown area ministers and churches are planning the daily Cross Walk as part of the activities leading up to the Easter weekend celebration.

Beginning at noon Monday, the group will march from church to church in the Brownstown area carrying a large cross. They will begin at Brownstown Church of Christ on Tanner Street and proceed to Brownstown United Methodist Church at the corner of Walnut and Poplar streets.

Each day has a different destination. The final one is Brownstown Church of the Nazarene on Commerce Street. The starting points for the other days are Brownstown United Methodist Church, Tuesday; Brownstown Presbyterian Church, Wednesday; and Brownstown Christian Church, Thursday.

Each day’s walk will take about 45 minutes and include singing, Scripture, prayer and carrying a cross.

At noon Good Friday, the community is invited to be a part of a service at the Nazarene church, where the cross is carried into the service.

At 6:45 a.m. Easter Sunday, there will be a sunrise service at First Baptist Church.

Everyone is invited to participate in these commemorative activities during Holy week.
