UNIONVILLE

Paul Eugene Ballman, 76, of Unionville, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2015, at his home, surrounded by his family. He had been ill for six months.

Born Oct. 11, 1938, in Jackson County, he was the son of Paul and Lilias Mahoney Ballman. On June 12, 1966, he married Sandy Scott Ballman, who survives.

Paul graduated from Shields High School, where he ran track and received trophies. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was honorably discharged. He was a retired bricklayer and enjoyed NASCAR and basketball. He was dedicated to his family and was a wonderful father and enjoyed his grandchildren.

Other survivors include his two sons, Robby Ballman and Barry Ballman; two sisters, Carolyn (Eugene) Plank of Seymour and Robbie Joe (Frank) De Rosa of Cloverdale.

Besides his parents and stepmother, Mary H. Ballman, he was preceded in death by his stepsister, Rhonda Sue Hagger.

A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
