Ruth Evelyn Hall, 86, of Brownstown, formerly of Medora, passed away at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Hoosier Christian Village.

Born June 12, 1928, in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Raymond A. Stipp and Edith Grow Stipp, both of whom preceded her in death. On July 25, 1948, she married William Preston Hall, who passed away in 1986.

She was a farmer’s wife, homemaker and member of Medora Wesleyan Church.

At the age of 18, she received her pilot’s license. She loved gardening, quilting, cross stitching, cooking and playing the piano. She enjoyed being with her extended family at Hoosier Christian Village.

Survivors include one son, Preston Emerson (Sherry) Hall, Medora; four daughters, Barbara (Fred) Hall-Harmes, Columbus, Carolyn (Jon) McKinney, Montgomery, Illinois, Janice (Perry) Stegall, Medora, and Shari (fiance, Larry Short) Hall, Kenosha, Wisconsin; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Raymond L. (Reva) Stipp, Bedford.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Darlene Kocsis, and two grandchildren, Shannon Emmons and Billy Jo Helton.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Medora Wesleyan Church with Pastor Skip Breeden officiating. Burial will be at Cresthaven Cemetery in Bedford.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Hague Funeral Home in Medora and from 11 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church.
