Hannah Hackman of Vallonia recently was named the 2014 December Youth of the Month by the Brownstown Exchange Club.

The Brownstown Central High School senior was introduced by club member and committee chairman Kevin Gwin.

Hackman is the president of National Honor Society and a member of the Booster and Spanish clubs. She has been a member of the Academic Team — English Division three years and Fine Arts Division one year. She received the VIP Award during her junior year and was Brave of the Month once as a freshman and again as a senior.

She has been a choir member for four years and participated in two musicals, “The Sound of Music” during the sophomore year and “Cinderella” this year.

Hackman said she plans to attend the University of Indianapolis to study occupational therapy with a psychology major.

Her parents, Denver and Diane Hackman, attended the meeting.
