Olive Ann Ray Oathout, 89, of Seymour, passed away Friday afternoon, April 3, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.

Born April 23, 1925, in Seymour, she was the daughter of John A. “Bert” and Hester Bridges Ray, both of whom preceded her in death. On Jan. 26, 1946, in Seymour, she married Roger R. Oathout, who preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 1983.

Ann returned to the Seymour area in 1983, after many years of living in Marietta, Georgia. She retired as a bookkeeper. Locally, Ann attended Rockford United Methodist Church, Seymour. She was active in the Eastern Star Lodge 134, where she also had served as a past matron.

Survivors include her daughter, Beverly Carol Oathout; grandsons, Guiness Andrew Oathout and Cody Roland Sexton; a great-granddaughter, Elsee Oathout; and a sister, Ellen Clark.

Besides her parents and husband, Ann was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Peden; and her brothers, Robert D. Ray, Albert W. Ray and Donald Ray.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Voss Chapel with the Rev. Bill Weaver officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Seymour. An Eastern Star service also will be at 12:45 p.m. Thursday.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to donor’s choice of charity.
