The Columbus City Band will present its annual spring concert at 2 p.m. Sunday at The Commons performance theater in Columbus.

The program will include a variety of selections — marches, programmatic pieces, Broadway musicals and overtures.

The band is conducted by Steve McGrew of Seymour and contains several current or former Jackson County musicians, including Lois Bryden, Stephanie Strothmann, Molly Crenshaw, Ellen Mirer, Becky Grelle, Leigh Hedger, Jayme Kasting, Jo McGrew, Bob Strothmann, Diane Brown, Ed Kerns, Dick Parman, Richard Branaman, Jacob Gambrel, Doug Pogue, Jennifer Richard, Nikolai Haak and Ron Duncan.

The band, supported by local and area grants and the Indiana Arts Commission, was chartered in 1843, making it one of the oldest community bands in Indiana.

Parking is free, and the concert is free.
