Pick up your brush, and Paint the Town

A Paint the Town event will be from 2 to 5 p.m. April 19 at Chateau de Pique Winery, 6361 N. County Road 760E, Seymour.

Paint the Town is a social painting event where participants do not have to have previous experience or talent to join the fun. Art instructors with Southern Indiana Center for the Arts will provide all supplies and instructions to guide participants to put together a masterpiece.

Pictures of the project can be seen at soinart.com.

Participants will use an 11-by-14 canvas that will let them dabble with paints, different types of paper and everyday household items that will add some texture to the piece.

“For this first multi-medium project, the main subject will be a bird,” instructor Stephanie Mysak said. “We have a couple designs to choose from. Add your own embellishments and message to create a one-of-a-kind piece of art for your wall.”

The cost is $27.50 and includes all supplies and instructions to complete the painting.

Those attending can purchase drinks during the event from Chateau de Pique.

Preregistration and prepayment are required to ensure there are plenty of supplies for everyone. Class size is limited, and the deadline to sign up is April 17. Call SICA at 812-522-2278 or email sicatreasurer@frontier.com.
