Tickets for the Dinner on the Bridge event available

Friends of the Medora Covered Bridge and Area has begun planning the fifth annual Dinner on the Bridge.

Proceeds from the event, which will be at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 1, benefit the organization’s work.

LaDonna Mitchell of Country Cookin in Salem will serve the meal, which features fried chicken and ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, broccoli salad, grape salad, dinner rolls, homemade pie and drinks. The meat will be served, but the remainder of the meal will be served buffet style.

There will be two serving lines this year to accommodate more diners. In 2014, 194 people were served, but event organizer Morris Tippin said the goal this year is 300 diners. The cost is $20.

There will be live entertainment and door prizes.

To purchase a ticket, mail a check to FMCBA, P.O. Box 132, Medora, IN 47260. The tickets will be mailed to you. It is helpful, but not required, if you include a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

FMCBA promotes the bridge by publishing brochures about it; providing tours for visitors; making presentations for schools and organizations; and maintaining the grounds around the bridge.

Memberships are available for $10 per person and $15 per family.
