Photo entries accepted for Muscatatuck contest

Entries are now being accepted for the Wings Over Muscatatuck Photo Contest at Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge near Seymour.

There are two categories for entries — birds of Indiana and birds of other places.

Photos must be prints by noncommercial photographers that are at least 5 by 7 inches. Previous winning entries are ineligible. Entries may not be significantly altered from the original viewed image, although cropping, lighting and darkening are permitted.

Contest entries must be mounted on a stiff backing, and no frames or hanging wires are permitted.

Two entries are allowed per person, and names are not permitted on the front of the entry. Entries will be judged in adult and youth (under 18) categories. An entry form (available at the refuge) must be attached to the back.

Entries must be delivered to the refuge office or visitor center by 4:30 p.m. May 7 to be included in the contest. Winning entries will receive ribbons and be shown on refuge media sites/newsletters.

Photography contest entries will be on display at the refuge visitor center from the date judged through the end of May.
