Kevin Gabbard recently was elected president of the board of directors of Jackson County Industrial Development Corp.

Gabbard is the organization’s fifth president and will succeed Gary Meyer, who has served as president since 2004. With his retirement as chief executive officer of Schneck Medical Center, Meyer also is stepping down from the board. He has served on the board as Schneck Medical Center’s representative since 2001.

Gabbard is market executive of MainSource Bank and has been a member of the JCIDC board since 2002, previously serving as secretary-treasurer. That position was recently split into two roles on the executive committee and will be filled by Marvin Veatch and Jeff Morning.

Veatch, who represents JCB, will serve as treasurer, and Morning, who represents Brownstown Chamber of Commerce, will serve as secretary.

They join the remaining members of the executive committee — Curt Kovener, vice president, representing the town of Crothersville, and Seymour Mayor Craig Luedeman, who is vice president of development.

Veatch, who serves as chief financial officer at JCB, joined the JCIDC board in 2008, while Morning, who is director of material management at Schneck Medical Center, became a member of the board in 2006.

Meyer’s position on the board is being filled by new Schneck Medical Center CEO Warren Forgey.
