Wesley Douglas Colyer Sr., 64, of North Vernon, passed away at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

Born Nov. 3, 1950, in Hazard, Kentucky, he was the son of Denny and Eunice Sumner Colyer, both of whom preceded him in death. On Feb. 14, 1977, in Seymour, he married Peggy Ritz, who preceded him in death Dec. 28, 2005.

He worked as a brick mason for 30 years and also was a press operator at Decatur Plastics. He enjoyed fishing and UK basketball.

Survivors include a son, Wesley Douglas Colyer Jr. of Virginia Beach, Virginia; two daughters, Missy Palitzsch of St. Charles, Missouri, and Mandy Rogers of Royal Air Force in Mildenhall, England; a brother, Lloyd Colyer of Columbus; two sisters, Barb Shepherd-Phillips of Columbus and Joyce Combs-Shepherd of London, Kentucky; and nine grandchildren.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, Denny Colyer.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral and Cremation Services with the Rev. W. Sherman Beville officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from noon until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery.
