NORTH VERNON

William Robert “Bill” Atkins, 89, of North Vernon, died at 9:50 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

He is survived by his wife, Yvonne Atkins of North Vernon; one son, Mark D. (Cheryl) Atkins of Columbus; one daughter, Cheri Carter of North Vernon; one brother, Gerald Atkins of Hilliard, Ohio; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Denise Atkins.

A funeral service will be conducted at noon Tuesday at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon with the Rev. Bob Weeks officiating. Family and friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to First Baptist Church in North Vernon.
