Ruth Spray, 86, of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Born Aug. 1, 1928, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Albert H. and Martha Schepman Droege, both of whom preceded her in death. On Nov. 24, 1948, in Seymour, she married William E. Spray, who survives.

Ruth lived all of her life in Jackson County. She attended Indiana University and Seymour Business College.

She was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Seymour. She was a housewife and former secretary/treasurer of Spray Sand and Gravel. She was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and went to Bible Study Fellowship of Columbus and Life Light Bible Study at Redeemer.

Other survivors include four daughters, Sue (William) Boyd, Barb (Garry) Ritz, Peggy (Rick) Schleibaum and Mary (Jerry) Schooler; grandchildren, Anna Boyd, Peter Boyd, Casey (Melanie) Ritz, Todd Schleibaum, Curt (Summer) Schleibaum, Amy (Joshua) Merideth, Molly (Nicholas) Klinger and Elizabeth Schooler; and six great-grandchildren, Matthew Hutcheson, Maddix Schleibaum and Madilyn Schleibaum, and Calvin, Megan and Morgan Ritz.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph G. Droege; and four sisters, Lois Butcher, Alberta Vonderau, Melba Moody and Mary Droege.

The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. Joseph Barlau and the Rev. Andrew Currao officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Voss Chapel in Seymour and from 1 p.m. until time of service Saturday at Redeemer Lutheran Church.
