Charles “Bill” Wilson, 77, of Brownstown, passed away Friday, April 24, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Born Aug. 14, 1937, in Seymour, he was the son of Edgar and Juanita Hatton Wilson, both of whom preceded him in death. On Feb. 14, 1958, in Clearspring, he married Betty S. Weddel, who survives in Brownstown.

He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Brownstown. He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1963 and was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6636 in Salem. He owned and operated Wilson’s Locker and E-Z Tan, both in Brownstown.

Other survivors include a son, Clyde “Bill” (Tammy) Wilson of Medora; a daughter, Dee Ann (Scott H.) Wilson Singer of Brownstown; a brother, Don Wilson of Medora; a sister, Diana Wienhorst of Fort Myers, Florida; and three grandchildren, Jon “Nick” Richey of New Albany, Alicia Singer of Brownstown and Kaitlyn Wilson of Medora.

Besides his both parents, he also was preceded in death by two sisters, Delhia Sovern and Thelma Birdwell; and a brother, Edgar Wilson Jr.

The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, Brownstown, with Pastor Jeff Patterson officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Brownstown, and from 2 p.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church.

Burial will be at White River Valley Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the family.
