AUSTIN

John A. Wohler, 96, of Austin, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015, at Hampton Oaks Health Campus in Scottsburg.

Born in Zenas, he was the son of George and Elizabeth Kanell Wohler.

John was a retired farmer and a former bus driver for many years for Scott County School District 2. He was a member of First Baptist Church and a former member of New Providence Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary L. Sands Wohler; a daughter, JoElla (Gary) Coots of Vincennes; a son, Dwayne (Shirley) Wohler of Austin; two grandchildren, Tim and Andrew Coots; and three great-grandchildren, Cameron Smith, and Claudia and Nicollette Coots.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Herman, Henry and William Wohler; and two sisters, Clara Wohler and Anna Richards.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be at Scottsburg Cemetery.
