John R. Moster, 75, of Columbus, passed from this life at 12:10 p.m. Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility in Columbus.

Born Sept. 6, 1939, in Rushville, he was the son of William F. and Lois E. Ward Moster, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Jacqueline Mauzy on Jan. 6, 1958.

Earlier in life, he was the golf pro at Seymour Country Club. He later managed Thompson Sporting Goods in Columbus and he was currently self employed in the antique industry. Having a true passion for the outdoors, Mr. Moster was a life member of the American Trapshooting Association and he enjoyed golfing, fishing, shooting and going to antique sales.

Besides his wife, survivors include a daughter, Diana Moster of Seymour; siblings, Mary (Ivo) Kask of Indianapolis, Sara Rivers of Muncie, Thomas (Edna) Moster of Rushville, and Nancy (Carl) Thomas of Phoenix; and many nieces and nephews.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation is planned.

A private memorial service will be conducted at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of the donor’s choice.
