Kevin Wayne Dukes, 56, of Lafayette, passed away at 9:05 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at his residence.

Born Aug. 24, 1958, in Lebanon, he was the son of Kenneth W. and Jane A. Holdeman Dukes of Colfax. On June 9, 1990, in Seymour, he married Teresa Prange, who survives.

Kevin graduated from Western Boone High School in 1976 and then worked at Palmor Products in Thorntown for 20 years, Wabash National and most recently at SIA. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially watching his children’s activities, along with dirt bikes, bowling, golf and working at Purdue’s dairy farm.

Besides his wife, survivors include his children, Mahlie (Keith) Harpenau of Indianapolis and Mitchell T. Dukes of Lafayette; a grandson, who has yet to be born, Logan J. Harpenau; two brothers, Jeff (Shellie) Dukes of Celestine and Larry (Brenda) Dukes of Lebanon; a sister, Pam (Mike) Mover of Franklin, Tennessee; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Pat and Dale Weasner of Seymour; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Vern and Joyce Prange of Seymour; several in-laws, including Greg Prange of Seymour, Connie (Greg) Rose of Seymour, Linda Clark of Columbus, Jeff (Melody) Kriete of Brownstown, Roger (Phyllis) Kriete of Jeffersonville, Julie Tate of Seymour and Karla (Dwight) Eddy of Seymour; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. James Lutheran Church, 800 Cincinnati St., Lafayette, with Pastor Michael Salemink officiating. Burial will follow at Meadow View Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Soller-Baker Lafayette Chapel, 400 Twyckenham Blvd., Lafayette, and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.
