Washington Lodge planning primary election day fish fry

Washington Masonic Lodge’s regular primary election day fish fry will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday in front of the lodge hall, 134 S. Main St., Brownstown.

The $6 meal consists of a fried fish sandwich with chips and a choice of drink that is served eat-in or carryout.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Robert Coffman Masonic Scholarship Fund that helps the children and grandchildren of lodge members with the cost of higher education. Seven scholarships were awarded earlier this year from the fund.

Washington Lodge 13 is part of the Indiana Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons, organized Jan. 13, 1818, in Madison.

Washington Lodge, located across from the courthouse, was granted its dispensation in 1819. Its charter was granted during the state’s annual meeting in September 1820.

Information on Washington Lodge and the Indiana Grand Lodge are available from any member and will be available during the fish fry.
