Schneck to host session on weight-loss surgery

Schneck Medical Center offers a free educational seminar on surgical weight-loss options the second Monday of each month at the Seymour hospital.

The next seminar will be at 6 p.m. May 11 in the Schneck auditorium near the visitors entrance. No reservations are required.

During the seminar, Dr. Robert Cooper will discuss the benefits and risks of weight-loss surgery and its growing use for the treatment of morbid obesity.

Cooper is a surgeon dedicated to helping bariatric patients reach their goal of a healthier lifestyle. Board-certified in surgery, Cooper earned his medical degree from the University of Louisville and completed his surgical training at Boston University.

He has developed advanced skills in laparoscopic surgery and is a member of the American Society of Bariatric Surgery.
