William “Bill” Coun Goforth, 76, of Norman, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015, at his residence.

Born March 2, 1939, in Elwood, he was the son of Lawrence A. and Mary F. Brewer Goforth, both of whom preceded him in death. On March 14, 1958, in Seymour, he married Alice Rosalie Hildreth, who survives in Norman.

He was a member of Kurtz Church of the Nazarene and worked his entire life in construction, retiring from Goforth Construction.

Other survivors include two sons, William K. Goforth of Norman and Michael D. Goforth of Seymour; a daughter, Kathy M. Goforth Parker of Norman; two brothers, Larry Goforth and Jack Goforth, both of Norman; four sisters, Joyce Barret of Frankton, Mary Jane Flemming of Florida, Norma Jean (Jack) Sanderson of Florida and Marilyn (Joe) Bond of Norman; nine grandchildren, Angela (Harris) Snelling, Bobby G. Harris, Ben Kerkhof, Gabe Bennet, Jenny Brewer Pearson, Amanda Brewer, Daryl Brewer, Brittany Robbins and Breanna Goforth; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Jack Barret and George Flemming.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Kurtz Nazarene Church with Floyd Fisher officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Spurgeon Funeral Home in Brownstown and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the church.

Burial will be at Kurtz Cemetery.
