Deck out lawn at patio show

Seymour Main Street’s 14th annual Lawn, Garden and Patio Show will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in the Robertson parking lot along St. Louis Avenue and Walnut Street behind Peace Lutheran Church.

There will be booths displaying and selling lawn and garden decorations, flowers and vegetable plants, brooms, hand-painted items, wood crafts, lawn and patio furniture, grills, lawn mowers, tools, collectibles, handmade rugs and jewelry, landscaping products and more.

Seymour Main Street is an organization that works to promote and improve the downtown.

Those attending the Lawn, Garden and Patio Show can enjoy live music too.

Southern Indiana Center for the Arts will offer a Paint the Town event during the show where participants can paint “Colorful Chickadees” on an 11-by-14-inch canvas. All supplies and instruction are provided at a cost of $25. SICA members receive a 20 percent discount. No art experience is necessary.

The Seymour Kiwanis Annual All-You-Can Eat Pancake Breakfast will run from 8 to 11 a.m. that day in the fellowship hall at Peace Lutheran Church.

Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for kids.

Also taking place this weekend is the 16th annual Great U.S. 50 Yard Sale, which runs Friday through Sunday.

Residents and businesses along the highway can set up sales along the route that stretches from Maryland to California.

The longest annual yard sale in the world started in 2000 and is a way to promote tourism along U.S. 50, unite communities, provide opportunities for fundraising, aid in recycling efforts and give people lots of sales to check out, organizers said.
