Owls fall to New Albany in HHC play

NEW ALBANY — The Seymour baseball team built an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but couldn’t build from there in a 6-1 loss at New Albany in the consolation-round of the HHC tournament on Wednesday.

After scoring tow runs in the bottom of the first, the Bulldogs tacked on four in the third to extend their lead.

The Owls’ Mitchell Moore came in with the sole run on the day.

Jorge Vega and Alan Perry came up with the Owls’ hits on the day.

With the loss, the Owls (11-8) will host Madison for the seventh-place finish Friday.

SOFTBALL

West Washington tops Tigers

The Crothersville softball team fell 18-0 on Wednesday at West Washington.

Trailing 5-0 after three innings, the Tigers gave up 13 runs in the fourth behind six errors.

Brittany Clem finished with the Tigers’ lone single on the day.

Today, the Tigers will host New Washington.
