Academic Super Bowl team competes at regional

Immanuel Lutheran School’s Academic Super Bowl Team competed in the Indiana Association of School Principals 2015 Regional Competition on May 2 at Seymour Middle School.

The theme was “The Grandeur that was Rome.”

Immanuel students and coaches have been practicing and preparing for the competition since November.

Results from the regional were then compiled with other schools from around the state for results.

Each round had a possible of 25 points. Immanuel’s science team competed in Class 4 and placed first in the regional with 18 points. The Immanuel social studies team placed first with 17 points; the math team placed third with 10 points; the English team placed second with 17 points; and the interdisciplinary team placed second with 13 points.

In the state competition, Immanuel’s social studies team finished eighth; the English team finished 12th; and the science team placed 13th.

Immanuel students participating in the regional were Caleb Gruenwald, William Rudzinski, Keaton Stout, Colin Sons, Pierce McCamman, Josh Rowe, Jackson Nay, Jack Caudill, Nora Rudzinski, A.J. Goecker, Cyle Ginsberg, Jessica Blevins, Abby Wiggam, Logan Covey, Sophia Stahl, Kash Siefker, Kendall Schaefer, Maddie Nay, Patrick DeBoor, Charlie Caudill,and Brice Sipes.

Immanuel coaches were Sandy Franke, Sue Sims, Mark Rudzinski, Charlie Smith, Kevin Rudzinski, B.J. Sinclair, and Heather Dyer.

Team members Lance Roark and Stone Cockerham were unable to attend the regional.
