Sectional pairings announced

The Brownstown Central baseball team will face Corydon Central in the first-round of the Class 3A North Harrison sectional on May 27 at 5:30 p.m.

Crothersville plays Orleans on May 27 at the Class A Springs Valley Sectional at 6 p.m. Trinity Lutheran will go up against West Washington in the semifinals, on the other side of the bracket, on May 30 at 11 a.m. The sectional championship game will be held that night at 7 p.m.

Class 4A Seymour will host Bedford North Lawrence in the semifinals of the Seymour sectional on May 30 at 5 p.m.

Fourth inning dooms Cougars

The Trinity Lutheran baseball team amassed a 4-0 lead over Henryville after the first two innings, but gave up eight runs in the fourth in a 8-4 defeat.

Chandler Reynolds had a solid day at the plate with two singles and a double and Sam Crick recorded a pair of singles.

The Cougars’ Matt Fourman finished with a double and two RBI on the evening.

With the loss, the Cougars fall to 10-13.

Tigers fall to Lanesville in five

LANESVILLE–The Crothersville baseball team scored a single run in the third inning in a 14-1 loss to Lanesville on Tuesday.

Alex Van Coutren hit an RBI single that brought Clayton Byrd in for the Tigers.

The Tigers had four hits on the afternoon, as Cory Needler and Byrd had doubles and Tyler Williams added a single.

Tonight, the Tigers (0-15) head to Columbus Christian.
