John V. Pasternack, 74, of Seymour, formerly of Chicago, passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2015, at his home.

Born April 13, 1941, in Chicago, he was the son of John Anthony and Eva Massoth Pasternack, both of whom preceded him in death. On Oct. 5, 1963, in Chicago, John married Margaret Wilson, who survives.

John was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. From an early age, John collected model trains and over time, he amassed quite a collection of trains. He was a member of Southern Indiana Model Railroad Club.

Other survivors beside his wife of 51 years include son, John (Judith) Pasternack of Prospect Heights, Illinois; daughters, Scott (Gayle) Albergo of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, Courtney Wimmer of Elk Grove Village, Illinois, and Bill (Gabrielle) Galus of Seymour. John was a proud grandfather to Brian Pasternack, T.J. (Jordan) Albergo, Jason Albergo, Jessie Albergo, Cody Albergo, Jackie Wimmer, Kelly Wimmer, Joshua Galus, Bill Galus Jr., Danny Galus, Kayla Galus and Hunter Galus; and a great-granddaughter, Olivia Albergo.

Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Father Dan Staublin.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre at 311 Holiday Square Road, Seymour, and from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at All Saints Catholic Cemetery at 700 North River Road in Des Plaines, Illinois, 60016.
