Friends and Neighbors Extension Homemakers Club met April 28 at Tea House by Karen in Vernon.

Twelve members enjoyed the homemade lunch, teapots of hot tea and specially designed desserts.

Donna Patterson led the club song and a tribute and message of love for member Darlene Hart, who is moving away. The song, written in poetry by Judy Carter, was sung by everyone to the tune of “Jesus Loves Me.”

Martha McIntire shared the devotion, which was a remembrance of her mother. One of her traits was she always was willing to talk with others, an example of how they will know we are Christians by our love.

Charlotte Lovegrove opened up a large bag, and in it were gifts for Hart from each of the members. Hart also shared gifts for the members.

The club also played a game of heart bingo.

Ruth Bateman will be the hostess for the June meeting.
