Michelle Nicole Kiewitt, 17, of Seymour, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015, in Louisville, Kentucky.

Born May 16, 1998, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Sandy Lea Burchett (Danny) Collins and Michael Duane (Wendy) Kiewitt.

She was baptized at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Seymour. She was an active 17-year-old who loved to stay on the go. She was always taking selfies on her phone, posting pictures on her Facebook page and running around with friends.

Michelle was a senior at Seymour High School-JCLC, where she enjoyed football, cheerleading and swimming. Her favorite pastime was being outside as she wouldn’t hesitate to jump on a four-wheeler and take a ride or get on a go-cart and hit the dirt.

Besides her parents, survivors include a sister, Nora Rena (Cameron) Royalty; a niece, Alexandria Royalty; stepbrothers and stepsisters, Christy, Daniel and Christopher Collins and Jeremy and Megan Wagers; paternal grandparents, Larry Kiewitt and John (Frances) Sparrow; maternal great-stepgrandfather, James Douglas; paternal great-stepgrandmother, Vera Sparrow; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by an infant brother, Michael Duane Kiewitt Jr.; maternal grandparents, Ronald and Peggy Strong; and paternal stepgrandfather, Dixie Kiewitt.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Voss Chapel in Seymour with the Rev. Andrew Currao officiating.

Burial will follow at Acme Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Riley Hospital for Children through the funeral home.
