NAPLES, Fla.

Bertha Richart Elsner, 91, of Naples, Florida, and formerly of Seymour, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015, in Tucson, Arizona, while visiting family.

Born Sept. 8, 1923, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Leo and Emma Hunt Richart, both of whom preceded her in death. On June 7, 1947, at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Seymour, she married Omer W. Elsner, who passed away Sept. 7, 2001.

Bertha was a loving mother who enjoyed life and being with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed playing golf and cards with them. Bertha found tremendous delight in her great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Patricia (Rudi) Peterson, Bill (Joan) Elsner and Nancy (Fred) Daues; grandchildren, Mark Petersen, Stacey, Katie and Greg Elsner, Jessica Daues Riis, Freddy and Chris Daues and their families; three great-grandchildren, Carter Lips, Jake Riis and Max Daues; brother, Paul R. Richart; and sister, Betty (W.J.) Lane.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers.

A funeral memorial Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Father Dan Staublin officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass Saturday at the church.

Memorials be designated to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
