The fifth annual Ride to Remember, honoring the fallen heroes and their families who gave the ultimate sacrifice during the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts, includes a stop in Brownstown.

Marine Lance Cpl. Hunter “H.D.” Hogan will be remembered for his sacrifice during a service from 3:15 to 3:45 p.m. June 14 at the veterans memorial at the Jackson County Courthouse at 111 S. Main St.

The ride, organized by the Indiana Patriot Guard, will begin June 13 at Batesville and end June 14 at Versailles. Membership in the guard is not a requirement to participate. Participants also do not have to ride a motorcycle, as four-wheel vehicles are welcome.

Ride to Remember shirts will be available prior to and on the days of the event, and the cost allows families of the fallen to have shirts.

The route is 300-plus miles with law enforcement support where available. A map of the route can be accessed at mapq.st/1r3RfPg.
