Uniontown Baptist planning new community outreach

Uniontown Baptist Church will be adding a new community outreach starting Friday with the opening of Happy Dog’s Hot Dog Stand.

Happy Dog’s will be serving kolache-style mini hot dogs, smoked or polish sausage and desserts, according to a news release from the church.

A kolache, which means “circle” or “wheel,” originally was named for a round fruit-filled sweet pastry, but locally, they are similar to “pigs in a blanket” when hot dogs or sausages are used. A variety of toppings and fillings can be used for this unique creation.

Happy Dog’s will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the church basement fellowship room.

For a $5 suggested donation, customers will receive a kolache meal with dessert, soda or water and butter mints. Carryout also will be available.

Other outreach programs at the church include the monthly Fourth Friday Open Gospel Sing and the In God’s Sight Learning Center, which has allowed parents to home-school their young children for the past two years.
