The annual Take a Kid Fishing event will be from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Muscatatuck National Wildlife Refuge, 12985 U.S. 50 East, Seymour.
Activities for youngsters include fishing contests, fishing crafts and games, cane-pole-making and fishing lessons with all equipment provided.
There also will be a free hot dog lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The Muscatatuck Wildlife Society, the nonprofit refuge friends group, manages the day’s program, and refuge volunteers work the contests.
The refuge is located off U.S. 50 three miles east of Interstate 65 at Seymour.
