People who park across the street to go to the Brownstown Pool will have to use a crosswalk.
Brownstown Town Council members unanimously approved the first reading of the ordinance at a meeting earlier this week before waiving the other two readings. They made that move so the ordinance goes into effect immediately.
The pedestrian crosswalk will be established on Bridge Street about 75 feet southeast of the intersection of Bridge and Clark streets.
The ordinance states that no pedestrian shall cross Bridge Street without using the crosswalk.
The town’s street department will place appropriate traffic marking and signage at that location.
