Morris Dale “Cigar” Sandlin, 74, of Seymour, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015, at his home.

He was born in Seymour on Dec. 22, 1940, to the late Harold H. “Dick” and Lorene Hillebrand Klosterman.

On Sept. 23, 1962, he married Judith “Judy” White, who survives.

Cigar was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he worked as a truck driver until he retired.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Karen (Joe) Stroud; his son, Dale Sandlin; eight grandchildren, Holly Evans, Heather Evans, Cody Evans, Cara Stroud, Bret Sandlin, Ryan York, Alex Sandlin and Christina Sandlin; seven great-granddaughters; two great-grandsons; and two sisters, Delores Rebber and Shirley Hawkins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Johnny Sandlin; and a great-grandson, Hunter.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Voss Chapel.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday until time of service at the funeral home.
