Donald Maurice Lokey, 77, of Vallonia, died at 3:10 a.m. Monday, June 8, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center.

Born March 14, 1938, in Dayton, Arkansas, he was the son of William and Edith Dill Lokey, both of whom preceded him in death. He had lived in Indiana for 55 years. On July 1, 1961, in Brownstown, he married Wanda Faye Weddell, who survives in Vallonia.

He had been ill for 17 months. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of Vallonia Christian Church. He was the former owner/operator of Lokey Timber and loved to garden, spend time with his family and just socialize with anyone.

Other survivors include children, Steve (Joyce) Lokey of Vallonia, Sherri (Rick) Amers of Brownstown, Diane (Steve) Johnson of North Vernon, Phyllis (Charlie) Riggle of Roachdale, and Cindy Snyder of Vallonia; eight grandchildren, Levi Lokey, Ricky Amers, Samantha (Heath) Jones, Steve (Angie) Johnson Jr., Christy (Chris) Hahn, Charlie (Laura) Riggle, Aaron (Nikki) Riggle and Tanya (Roy) Cravens; 14 great-grandchildren; five brothers, Bob Lokey of West Virginia, Rex Lokey and Jack Lokey, both of Oklahoma, and Mike Lokey and Danny Lokey, both of Arkansas; and three sisters, Joy Whatley and Margaret Karl, both of Oklahoma, and June Edwards of Texas.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Lokey, and sister, Betty DeFord.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home with Chris Criminger officiating.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will take place in Weddleville Cemetery. Full military graveside rites will be conducted.
