Francis Marion “Cookie” Foist, 93, of Seymour, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015, at Kindred Transitional Care in Columbus.

Born March 1, 1922, in Jennings County, he was the son of Guy Foist and Lucy Sharp Foist, both of whom preceded him in death. On Aug. 15, 1940, at Butlerville, he married Lavonia E. Manuel Foist, who preceded him in death Feb. 13, 2012.

He was an iron worker for Repp and Mundt in Columbus for more than 25 years. He loved spending time in the outdoors gardening, fishing and hunting. He took a lot of pride in the appearance of his lawn and his garden.

Survivors include his children, Jack (Patty) Foist, Marlin (Candace) Foist, and Carleen (Jim) Findley; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Foist; and two sisters, Mary Helen Wolfinger and Mildred Lafferty.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Voss Chapel with the Rev. Tom Judd officiating.

Burial will take place at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Wednesday.
