Loyal Devoir Society of Central Christian Church in Seymour met May 26 with vice president Lois Gueder calling the meeting to order in the absence of Paula Stafford.

She thanked Janice Brock and her group for hosting Birthday Party Month.

Brock gave devotions on “The Love of Mothers.” Minutes were read by Judy McDonald.

Betty Guinn gave the treasurer’s report and read a thank-you note from a new member, Lindy Richey, for the cookbook.

Lucy Dembek gave the board report and urged everyone to read the bylaws, old and new, and attend the World Cafe on June 7.

Bonnie Koontz had no sales report.

Carolyn Bruce reported on the sick. Ruth Sweeney and Helen Horton aren’t well, and Marvin Rumph, Will Bentley and Bobby Murphy have health issues. Brock said a prayer for them.

A dinner for Eastern Star will be prepared and served at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 19. Plans will be made at the June and August meetings.

Donations for bingo prizes are being accepted this summer for Hoosier Christian Village. Trinkets, cards, snacks, hygiene items and stuffed animals are some ideas. Claudia Huddleston, Bruce and Dembeck will take them or drop them off at the church office.

The meeting closed with the Mizpah Benediction.
