JACKSONVILLE, Fla.

Mary Ann Taylor, 71, of Jacksonville, Florida, succumbed to her fight with brain cancer Thursday, June 11, 2015, surrounded by her daughters in Seymour.

Born Dec. 18, 1943, in San Diego, Mary was the daughter of Leo Hill and Edna Mae Dunford Peebles, both of whom preceded her in death. On April 3, 1959, she married Bruce “Skip” Herbertson who survives.

Mary Ann was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints. She held numerous callings including serving a mission with her late husband, Gene Taylor of Jacksonville. Her favorite calling was teaching in primary. She was known for her love of cooking and feeding everyone she knew. She was very skilled in needlework, painting and loved her craft projects. She left several unfinished projects for her daughters.

Mary Ann is survived by the father of her children, Skip; daughters, Pamela Churak, Cindy Fuller, Michelle Prater and Leslie Sims; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren with three on the way; her “favorite brother” Robert Hill; and two sisters, Virginia Miller and Barbara Jean Powell. Momma can finally have some peace. We will miss you, Momma.

Mary Ann will be laid to rest in Riverside Memorial Park in Jacksonville.
