Seymour man dies in motorcycle wreck in Newport News, Virginia

A 65-year-old Jackson County man died after the motorcycle he was driving was involved in a wreck in Newport News, Virginia.

Phillip D. Caudill of Seymour died at Riverside Hospital on Friday of injuries he sustained after he lost control of the 2005 Yamaha he was driving and struck the right front of a 2006 Toyota Camry, according to a news release from Sgt. Michelle Anaya with the Virginia State Police.

The wreck, reported at 12:39 p.m. Friday, occurred on a ramp from J. Clyde Morris Boulevard (State Road 17) to eastbound Interstate 64.

Anaya said police were able to determine Caudill gave a hand signal to make a left-lane change. As he changed lanes, he struck the Camry driven by Delores Felton, 81, of Randallstown, Maryland. At that point, Caudill lost control of the motorcycle, which struck the pavement.
