All Seasons Garden Club met June 1 at the home of Brenda Turner.
The hostess and co-hostesses Veronica Bowling and Joan Thompson served a light supper of finger foods, chips and lemon bars. Sherry Baker was introduced as a guest of Julie Ballard.
Members toured Turner’s landscaped yard and gardens that included crepe myrtle, hydrangeas and service berry trees.
Club president Becky Hackman conducted a short business meeting. Members discussed their volunteer work in the gardens at Lutheran Community Home. Martha Wilson talked about the progress being made with the planting of boxwood and perennials at the Habitat for Humanity home.
Becky Hackman and Sherry Baker won door prizes. Butterfly pink pentas were given as favors to all present.
Following the business meeting, the club drove to Karen Lanam’s home for a garden tour. Lanam has many varieties of hostas, daylilies and irises. The hostas came in various textures, colors and sizes.
The July 6 meeting will be at the home of Rita Wischmeier.
