BROWNSTOWN

Jane Zike, 82, of Brownstown, passed away at 2:20 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at her home.

Born Nov. 16, 1932, in Brownstown, she was the daughter of Maurice and Lois Martin Mullen, both of whom preceded her in death. On February 14, 1952, she married Dean L. Zike, who passed away March 5, 2015.

Jane was a graduate of Brownstown High School. She had been employed by various businesses in Jackson County, including Marion-Kay Spices, Jackson County Courthouse and JayC Food Store, all in Brownstown.

She and her husband and her parents operated Frost-top for several years. They also operated the Starve Hollow Lake concession stand and for many years operated the nutty bar ice cream stand at the Jackson County Fair.

She was a member of Brownstown Christian Church.

Survivors include two children, Denise (Ron) Hawn and Andrew Zike; brother in-law, David (Mary) Zike; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Eva June Lawson.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home in Brownstown with Gary Morning officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Brownstown.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday and from noon until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
