Music part of Seymour Fourth of July event

The Seymour Parks and Recreation Department’s annual Fourth of July celebration will begin with Music in the Park from noon to 3 p.m. July 4 at Shields Park, 600 N. Broadway St.

The free concert, sponsored by This Old Guitar Specialty Music Store in Seymour, will feature Brilyn Terrell from noon to 1 p.m., Long Family Singers from 1 to 2 p.m. and These Fine Gentlemen from 2 to 3 p.m. The concession stand will be open, and Shields Park Pool will have half-price admission from noon to 5 p.m. that day.

In the evening, the annual Kremers Urban fireworks display will be at 10 p.m. at Freeman Field Sports Complex. The WJAA Radio 96.3 Cool Bus will be on location with music simulcast.

Alcoholic beverages are prohibited on city property.
