Two guided paddling trips highlighting different aspects of Monroe Reservoir will be offered in July.

For nature lovers, the Nature on the Water paddling trip July 14 will explore the lake’s Northfork Marshes, where bald eagles were re-introduced to the state about 30 years ago. The trip starts at 9 a.m. and is limited to eight people age 16 and older. Registration is required by July 10 at bit.ly/naturewaterjuly2015.

The History on the Water paddling trip July 25 will highlight the cultural history of the Allen’s Creek area. This trip starts at 8 a.m. and is limited to 15 people age 15 and older. Registration is required by July 21 at bit.ly/historywaterjuly2015.

There is a $10-per-person program fee for each trip, and all participants must have at least two hours of paddling experience.

Participants can bring their own canoe or kayak. Single-person kayaks can be rented for an additional fee of $25, which includes boat transportation and a life jacket.
