Learn about county’s ties to Underground Railroad

The president of the Jackson County History Center will present details about the Underground Railroad in Jackson County and the heroic people involved with it during free programs at 6 p.m July 7 and 2 p.m. July 12.

Registration for Dick Rumph’s program, “Heroes of Jackson County: Underground Railroad,” is preferred by visiting myjclibrary.org/events or calling the Seymour Library at 812-523-4636. Registration is preferred by two days before each program.

Rumph is retired from teaching and is a minister. He also is a co-founder of Jackson County Drug-Free Council. He enjoys researching and teaching history.
