State announces upcoming lane closures

Indiana Department of Transportation’s contractor will continue to replace failing pavement at transition areas on Interstate 65 this coming week between Seymour and Scottsburg.

Crews will be on site from Sunday evening until Thursday at noon when operations are pulled back for the Fourth of July holiday weekend. The work includes:

  • Northbound I-65 right lane between mile markers 45 and 50
  • Southbound I-65 right lane between mile markers 45 and 40½
  • Eastbound U.S. 50 ramp to northbound I-65 at Seymour; this will reopen after concrete patches cure
  • Northbound I-65 ramp to westbound U.S. 50 at Seymour; this ramp will reopen after concrete patches cure

John R. Jurgensen Co. is the state’s contractor for the $54.7 million Seymour District pavement project, which renovated 21 lane miles of pavement and rehabilitated 20 bridges along I-65 over the past two years. The scope of the project is between U.S. 50 in Jackson County and State Road 56 in Scott County.
