The Don and Dana Myers Cancer Center in Seymour recently announced a couple of activities planned by the cancer support group.

The group brings together people with cancer and their support network of family and friends to share experiences, concerns and triumphs. Whether you are a person with cancer or a caregiver, you can share with others in a similar situation, helping you feel like a part of a larger community of support.

The group will conduct a cookout at 6 p.m. July 13 at the cancer center at the corner of Tipton and Pine streets. Nancy Arrowood will be speaking on “One Thousand Gifts.” She and her husband, Larry Arrowood, pastor at The Tabernacle, are the founders of Seymour Christian Academy.

Nancy Arrowood is a public speaker and the author of “Consider the Lilies.”

For reservations, call 812-522-0480.

On Aug. 10, Joe and Toots Goss will be speaking about their journey in the missions field. The pair began their mission work in 1976 and have been to more than 20 countries.

Future meeting dates for the caner support group are Sept. 14, Oct. 12, Nov. 9 and Dec. 14. The group meets at 6 p.m. at the cancer center.
