Ice cream social planned for Crothersville area

Hamacher Hall will host an ice cream social for Crothersville area residents, friends and supporters July 11.

The annual event will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and include ice cream, toppings, cookies, tea and lemonade. There is no charge for this event, but donations will be accepted.

Hamacher Hall at 211 E. Howard St. is the home of the Crothersville Town Players and a project of the Crothersville Historical and Cultural Arts Association.

The former Presbyterian church, it has been renamed Hamacher Hall in honor of the town’s founder, John Hamacher. The association exists to promote interest and knowledge of Crothersville history and to promote participation and enjoyment of the arts among Crothersville area residents.

Donations are tax-deductible, and funds are used for maintenance and improvements to the properties. In addition to events for the current year, the group is planning events for the upcoming Indiana bicentennial in 2016 and welcomes suggestions from the community.
